Dear South Carolina Democrat,

My name is Lachlan McIntosh, and I am running to represent you at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago as a delegate for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Defeating Donald Trump and preserving American democracy this fall will be one of the most important tasks we will face in our lifetimes. Giving President Biden another term to build on his enormous first term successes will ensure our country stays strong both at home and abroad. I am committed to doing everything I can to help re-elect Joe Biden and defeat Donald Trump once and for all!

I grew up in Summerville (now live on James Island) and have been active in local and state Democratic politics for over 30 years. I started volunteering in local campaigns before I was even a teenager and now operate a successful political consulting/public affairs business where I have helped over 50 Democrats get elected in South Carolina and all over the country.  

I’ve had the privilege to work for Democratic Party legends in our state like Fritz Hollings, Joe Riley, and Jim Hodges. I’ve served as Executive Director of the South Carolina Democratic Party and was volunteer Executive Director of the Charleston County Democratic Party back in the 90s. I understand firsthand how important strong county parties are to winning elections. 

Recently, I served as co-chair of the Project Roadmap Task Force alongside an excellent group of state Democratic Party leaders. Over the weekend we released our final report which I am confident will help lay the groundwork for Democratic victories this year and beyond!

I am proud to have won numerous awards from the American Association of Political Consultants for creative innovations and targeting. Moreover, in 2014 I was named Campaign Manager of the Year for my work electing Percy Bland, the first African American mayor of Meridian, Mississippi.

My recent local campaign clients include State Rep. Spencer Wetmore, State Rep. Leon Stavrinakis, James Island Mayor Brook Lyon, Charleston Register of Deeds Karen Hollings, Charleston City Council member Stephen Bowden and Summerville Town Council member Aaron Brown. I am beyond excited about the group of candidates I’m working with this year!
